Whispering Cedars

The property is in serious disrepair to the point of being a health hazard. There are much better rental options for the price here.

I live here for 7 years, like that this community is quiet. Great neighborhood and location.
Everyone is friendly. Just renewed my lease again.

Lived at Whispering for a year while in Washington. It was so amazing compared to some of the other places we toured nearby. If I ever move back I know I'll be a Whispering Cedars resident again!

I've been here a few years now. Here's my review:

Pros:
- Communicating with the staff and maintenance crew is easy through the online portal (both the mobile app and the Web site). Both the staff and maintenance crew are responsive, friendly, and thorough.

- Gated community

- Two parking spots per unit and, if available, you can reserve one or both spots for an extra monthly fee. Many other places only allocate one parking spot per unit.

- All units are non-smoking (people generally... go to the parking lot to smoke)

- If you have a unit without a washer/dryer, the public on-site washers/dryers are close by and you can pay by credit (and debit?) card. Machine vendor has a mobile app so you can report maintenance issues.

- Close to I-5 and I-405 interchange so good location whether you work in Seattle or on the east side

- Close to restaurants and shopping

- Best price around for spacious two-bedroom unit

- Weekly landscape maintenance keeps the property looking good

- Three pools and climbing equipment for the kids (and benches for the parents)

- School bus stop close by


Cons:
- Most units (but not all) face east/west so, in the summer, retained heat can be an issue indoors. The units do not have air conditioning so you'll need to bring your own.

- During the winter, when air is not circulating as much, mold can develop where items like furniture come in contact with the walls. Although mold prevention and cleanup is the tenant's responsibility, the maintenance staff can help.

- The gated entrance means you may have to go outside to open it if you're having food delivered (they can call you on the box and you can buzz them in, but most deliveries don't know to do that)

- The USPS has locked boxes for package deliveries, but the other package delivery services leave the packages at your door. However, I have not had anything stolen (knock on wood).

- If you have cats, there is a monthly fee in addition to the cat deposit

- The ground floor units' patios are not enclosed so you can't let your cat out without direct supervision. I have personally seen coyotes and raccoons on the property.

- Public washers/dryers and the credit card machine can go down so you'll need to keep quarters on hand just in case Read More

The girls at the office are very friendly and the place is very safe and convenient located. I love to live here
