Ahhhh Fireside.

For starters, nothing is maintained around the property. The back lawn is not taken care of, there are bugs and spiders and cobwebs that line the walls and stairwells, and plenty of peeling paint and rotting wood. Lived here for 10 months (2018-2019) and during this time the heating bill was $200 in the winter and $40 in the summer because there is no insulation whatsoever in the apartment. Plumbing was reported broken for at least 5 months and never was addressed until it flooded my bathroom...
the day of move out. I was informed by management that one of the owners is an engineer, so when he makes changes or “repairs” to this place he cuts corners and signs off on things that shouldn’t be allowed and the city accepts it because it has an engineers signature on it.

Upon move in, my neighbor downstairs discovered that when we attempted to take a bath, water rained down through the walls and flooded in his apartment. This was never addressed, so I can’t even imagine what the insides of the bathroom walls look like - the bathroom has to be toxic with mold by this point. This is specifically for apartment A4 by the way. The hot water heater is tiny, so max you’ll be able to get a 15 minute hot shower.

We killed about 8 or 10 stinkbugs a week in the apartment during the winter. Not to mention last June the complex caught on fire and because there is no sprinkler system or unit wide hardwired fire alarm system, a fourth of the complex was completely destroyed. When we moved in there wasn’t even a fire alarm in our apartment - we had to buy our own. The fire extinguishers are also past the inspection date by months.

During the winter time, no one took responsibility for having the driveway to the complex plowed. Not the building owners, not the property managers, and not the maintenance team. This caused everyone to have to park in the street due to the inability to get up the icy driveway. My car couldn’t even get out of my parking spot without slipping so I had to take an Uber to work and back for almost 2 weeks straight.

Building owners, property management, and on-site managers are all sketchy and dodgy, so don't rely on them having any integrity whatsoever when it comes to your lease agreement or getting your security deposit back, Its been three months and I’ve yet to receive mine!
