Horrible Management
HORRIFIC. Current resident here who is absolutely getting GAUGED despite being on a MFTE plan. Management is, of course, horrible and simply refuses to help you with anything or even respond at all. I absolutely do not recommend this building as I have only been here for 3 months and have been treated so incredibly poorly that I am still in shock. The reason I won’t be renewing next year is purely because of incompetent management which is really tragic.

Axle is a really nice apartment complex that meets the needs of all residents. Clean at all times including, available to assist when inquiries are needed.

Theft and Vandalism and Rent Increases
Okay, let's keep this simple.
1. I've had $9,000 worth of items(Italian motorcycle and a Cannondale mountain bike) stolen from secure areas here. A car was broken into and robbed this month.
2. Rents go up 30 percent a year as the neighborhood declines.
3. Turnover in the front office tells us they aren't happier than the tenants.

We are sorry about your unpleasant experience. Please know the office is always available to take your call and it is our duty to work with you to resolve any issues you may have. We want all neighbors to enjoy living here at Axle. We have had some... recent promotions within the company, which is the reason for the staff changes. You can reach the office directly at 206-225-2747 to discuss any further concerns.

Sub-par living masquerading as luxury
For the amount of money you pay to live here, over time you will have more and more things taken away from you, little to nothing added, but rent will go up significantly anyway. Also, like the other review says, your stuff is not secure here.
PROS:
The design and internal trim is nice. The bathrooms are very nice with a big illuminated mirror and a huge bathtub. Two giant windows on the wall facing the outside. An onsite community team that likes to do monthly events and snacks. Gym is decent... but missing some weights. Free B&W printing in the shared workspace area. Proximity to QFC and some eateries is great. Very close to Ballard and West Queen Anne.
CONS:
Rent was already expensive but they just increased it by over $400 a month with no services or amenities added. Had an expensive package either not arrive or was stolen, I'll never know which because it took the assistant manager over 3 weeks to look at security footage just to find that they only keep 2 weeks of footage on hand, then deflected responsibility by only repeating "we're not responsible for packages" over and over like a robot (so hope you like reporting to robots when you have an issue, they have zero human flexibility for issues you're facing). Building retains heat in the summer; the 2021 heat wave was trapped inside for 2 weeks. The "smart" door lock system is constantly breaking down. You can only have one key fob per name on the lease, so good luck with pet sitting if you travel for work. Units don't have many windows so prepare for a lot of darkness and the feeling of living in a prison cell. Located off 15th street means transients and sketchy people are everywhere, constantly. I've seen many posted notes and emails about stolen bikes. No guest parking except very limited street parking.
Overall I do not recommend living at Axle unless you like leasing from a company that cares more about profit margins than resident satisfaction.

Your Things Will Not Be Secure Here
The staff at Axle is great! Very nice people. Unfortunately, Lennar, the corporation that owns Axle and other properties, does not take security seriously.
In the past year, I've had a $3,000 bike stolen from the "secure" bike room ( it was locked to the rack) and last week I had a $6,000 motorcycle stolen from a parking space in the "secure" garage (it had a column lock so guys had to lift it into a truck in the garage).
In both cases, management's response has been "We'll check the video... ." No additional security measures have been put in place.
So, if you are planning on coming here and storing a car, a motorcycle, a bike or anything else outside your apartment, think twice. Your personal stuff will not be safe.
My hope is I will update this posting the future to tell you what management has done in response to this problem. For now, don't bring your valuable things here.
