    Building sold to horrible management company

    Don't trust the old reviews for this building. I lived here for 3 years and the old management was great, very personable, and emphasized the building's pet friendliness. They promised to never charge pet rent or raise rent by more than 4% per year. While I was living there, they sold to a new company (Equity Residential), which is horrible. They started charging pet rent and jacked the rent up super high every year. They required 3 different mandatory "renovations" that were each very invasive,… took a week or more, and left the apartment a lower quality than before they started the project (haphazardly cut cabinets, incomplete trim, mismatched paint, disconnected oven vent, and many more problems). They refused to lower my rent during the weeks that half the unit was unusable. They want to spend as little money as possible to check off boxes for "luxury" apartments so they can charge as high rent as possible. The final straw was when they replaced my perfectly good windows with windows that weren't sealed properly and let cold air in. Oh and also the area is very loud because of the bars across the street, but that wasn't a problem for me (and I suppose isn't a problem during the bar closures either).
