Worst of all you are charged 325.00 per month to park in the garage which is built for tenant parking. Let us multiply 325.00 by the 131 units in this building which equates to a whopping 42,575.00 per month in parking revenue! While we have been told that there are security cameras, we have never been provided with the promised camera footage info from the times we were violated.*There is only one small elevator in use. The freight elevator is not working and has not worked most of the time we have been here. The small elevator often breaks down also, with the only option being the stairs(photos). This has been incredibly difficult for those that live on the higher levels, those that have any mobility issues, those... that are moving in or out, or those, like us, that have a very old pup that struggles with walking.*There is NOT 24hour concierge to discourage burglary & break-ins like at many of the waterfront rentals. *Everyone in the building by way of the garage, front door or otherwise, has access to every single floor & space through the unlocked stairwell. We were mislead on our tour and told that everyone only has access to the floor they live on. YUP! through the elevator. You should be able to get out any door in the stairwell, not in, like in hospitals & other lofts. Read More

Great building and location. Management? An extreme disappointment.

I recently moved out of the building. When I first received my move out charges, it was a whopping $700+, even with my $500 or so security deposit. When I asked to see an itemized list of the charges, to my not-so-surprise, the charges went down to about $260. Hmm, interesting! In fact, this is the second time this has happened to me at The Joe. Another time was when I was in the middle of my lease and my monthly payment was... more than normal. I again, asked to see what exactly I was being charged for and, oops, accidentally over charged me.

Now on to my current move out charges. I believe I am unfairly being charged for painting (they remodeled my unit after me leaving) and cleaning (I deep cleaned my apartment at move out). No doubt they needed to clean and paint after a remodel? So, am I being charged to help pay for that? I see another recent move out complained of the same issue, so it’s clearly a problem with multiple people. Because of this I have sent multiple emails and made multiple phone calls and have never been replied to, I just keep getting the automated email to pay my final move out charges. The shadiness and complete lack of communication and acknowledgment is unacceptable. Maybe you guys will respond to me now that I left a negative review?

To current or future residents, make sure to double check your charges. They seem to sneak in an overcharge here and there. Or just don’t live in The Joe or another Thrive community. Read More

My time in this building was very disappointing. Packages were not delivered properly, the staff rarely were at the desk or available by phone, and the cleaning and maintenance services were poor. During the pandemic, I understand that amenities were shut down but they assured us they would continue to clean and maintain the building. I had a maintenance request I put in January 2020 that still was not addressed on September 1. There were times that main doors were covered in dirt and... fingerprints For over a week, and I rarely saw the cleaning team my entire stay. My neighbors, the few that did not move out to find better value for the money, said it used to be much better before Thrive took over. Speaking of the finance side, they have an online system but it is a manual data entry and I had to question my billing multiple times. Each time I would point out an error, have to go back and forth, and they would eventually fix (or so I thought). Unfortunately, one charge showed up again at move out and though I have Two forms of documentation to prove I paid, they will not correct. My time is worth more than the $350 and I don’t have the patience to continue to dispute so I just paid it. I would not recommend, there are nicer, newer, cleaner buildings surrounding this one, and hopefully have technology or management staff who can track payments correctly. Read More

I've lived at the Joe for a total of 2.5 years and I can only say good things. The apartments are stunning, the amenities are regularly cleaned and restocked (ex. lounge has espresso machine, dog area has bags) but what truly makes living here an amazing experience is the management staff. The maintenance manager is always kind and helpful when assisting around the building or in my apartment. Though my recent experience with Danny in the leasing office really shows me I can feel safe and at... home at the Joe. I had a dog-walker that was a disaster while I was away on a business trip. Had Danny not communicated the events that occurred while away I likely would have continued using a service that put me and my dog's safety at risk. The entire leasing management team is a delight to work with and I believe they are always looking out for my safety and wellbeing as a resident of the Joseph Arnold Lofts.
