Great location, terrible management

I was so excited about moving in here this past fall and have been utterly disappointed. The water pressure in the showers is basically non-existent as well as the hot water (in the kitchen AND the bathroom). I have put in several maintenance requests and STILL don't consistently have hot water and/or water pressure.

The apartments are heated by radiator heaters which you are not allowed to control. Therefore, if the temperature gets too warm you have no option but to open the window or add...
an additional space heater if you are too cold. We are not allowed to turn the radiators off because then they leak and fall through to the unit below. I know from experience as the unit below crashed down into my unit...

The utilities that you are metered for are fairly priced. However, you pay for water, sewer, hot water, and trash through Northwest Billing Associates (you have no choice in this matter). It is NOT metered and you pay based on the cost of the entire building. When I moved in I was told the average bill would be about $40-$50 each month. I have not had a monthly bill be less than $100 yet (my last one was $167). This wouldn't be such a big deal if I actually used anywhere near that much. The most frustrating part is that the majority of that bill is for "hot water" which I barely have!

Since I moved in, there have been 3 different apartment managers. None of them ever respond to phone calls and you're lucky if you get an e-mail response. I have had to put in several different maintenance requests and am still waiting on things to get fixed. The laundry units in the building work most of the time. However, if they or the money loading machines aren't working, you have to put in the service call yourself. You also have to be there to open the door for them to come in and fix anything because the manager doesn't answer the phone... if you're lucky, you may be able to buzz them into the building. I am still waiting for the ability to do that.

I will definitely not be renewing my lease here, which is sad because the location is really great.
