So charming

Ok, admittedly, I'm not a princess. I love living here but I don't think it's for everyone. This is my first time living in an apartment building like this, so I don't have much to compare it to other than condos in other cities.

It's fairly quiet for a large building. I can hear people in the hallway occasionally, and near the vents in the bathroom, but otherwise I rarely hear anyone above me, unless they drop something heavy.

There is plenty of hot water in the building!! And it gets super...
hot. Sometimes the shower will turn to scalding for a few seconds, but I just step out of the way until it returns to normal.

Electricity , at least in my unit, is a little less reliable. I blew a fuse trying to run a toaster and a hairdryer at the same time on the same outlet (I should have known better, though! I was in a hurry and there are no outlets in my bathroom).

It sounds annoying, but it's really no big deal. I enjoy a simpler life, so those who have lots of power-sucking gadgets that are on all the time should probably find a newer building. I knew what I was getting into beforehand.

Laundry is expensive but the facilities aren't bad! There is no sink. It's $2.25 to wash and $2.25 to dry (60 minutes).

I have internet through xfinity/Comcast, and it seems fine. I actually hate Comcast, but the other option was centurylink, and I hate them more than anything.

It's a very pet friendly building, and I love that. My cats love it; they feel comfortable here. Everyone else's pets seem happy, too.

My apartment faces north, and I moved in during the hottest summer Seattle's had in a long time. Maybe ever? Either way, my apartment has been warm, but never too hot. I've gotten chilly a couple of times, but it hasn't been cold enough for the radiators to come on. I don't know what that's like yet, so we'll see.

The tenants all seem really nice, and Jon, the manager, is great!

The location is awesome. The Starbucks is great, the Goodwill is a frequent stop, and I love the little used furniture store nearby. Broadway is just a short walk uphill. The 43/8 bus stops to go downtown are right by the Starbucks, and the 47 from downtown stops right next to the Biltmore. But even then, it's only about a 15 minute walk to Westlake Station. I love it here!

Awesome!

This is a beautiful, vintage building with tons of charm and plenty of original fixtures. The management is very friendly and really makes the effort to ensure that the residents are happy and comfortable.
