Great apartment!

Living at Axton has been really nice. The amenities are great and the front desk workers are super nice and helpful.

too many hidden costs and not easy to work with

The building is nice and amenities are good. Kind of far from a lot of the classes but you know that moving in. Lots of cement and even the ceilings are not painted in our apartment.
I gave it one star because of the billing and management. It seems like they set a rent price and then nickel and dime you about everything. I did not know building insurance is not part of your rent. They charge the tenant to insure their building, it has no benefit to the tenant. Also, another insurance policy... for resident insurance contents which I did not know about and ask about. Electric fees other than the cost of electric. A convenience Fee to pay your rent with an ACH. "Rentistry" fee which we never asked for.
I asked staff when we moved in and there answer was they don't even know what the fees were for. I called and emailed and finally got some answers.
What I am saying is they need to disclose the real cost of the unit before tenants move in. Then we can see if it is the right fit for us and not have surprises when we are already in there building.

The insurance costs are standard in many rental properties to protect both the property... and the tenant's belongings within it. Any fees that were not communicated effectively at the start of your tenancy are entirely our mistake, and we promise to handle such matters more diligently in future interactions.Your concern about undisclosed fees highlights a communication gap on our part which we will strive to rectify immediately. We believe every resident deserves full understanding of their financial obligations before moving into our property.

For any confusion about what was included or not included in rent, I’m genuinely sorry. In future leases, all fees will be outlined more clearly before you're asked to sign anything so that you can make an informed decision about whether this living situation suits your needs and budget.
