DO NOT RENT

At first we loved our apartment. They were renovated and updated with parking and a good spot that was close to everything we needed. Within the first few months, my car got broken into and I made a request for them to put more lighting or cameras which did not happen. Then the last few months of our lease we started having flooding problems because there is a gutter in the back of the complex that get clogged. The first time it happened, it took a few days for everyone to come out and clean,... get the water out and they said they fixed the issue in the back. Our insurance covered it but by mistake because flooding was not a part of our insurance. Then it flooded again and it was worse than the first time. They offered to let us move out but we only had a month left so it did not seem like it would be the best option for us. The damage to our things were worse and without coverage, I did not think to ask the complex to help with the cost UNTIL the third flood. The third flood was absolutely the worst. The property manager forwarded our calls and finally called back to tell me she would not be doing anything because she had a family member in the hospital. So I told her I understood being a medical professional myself. She then said she would cover a hotel and just to not worry about it. SO I brought up the issue of the damage and the last flood not being covered. They reassured me that everything would be taken care of. So I felt comfortable enough to take her word for it which was my mistake. They did not cover our hotel, they did not cover costs. And the property manager also said they would try to help by giving us three months of our rent back. None of which happened. They gave us one months rent plus our deposit. They lacked in communication through the whole thing, and has not once took responsibility for the issue. If you take the risk of actually renting from this complex, make sure you have flood insurance. Or do not rent apartments 9,10, 13, or 14. It will be the biggest mistake you make.
