Red Bud Apartments

I have lived here for a year, and I have to say ... the location is amazing. We're right off the bike path and can walk to downtown, the university, Wilson Park, and a whole heap of other neat places. Rent is truly reasonable for the area.

These single bedroom units were built in 1951. The building is a little older, but I really enjoy that aspect of it. What I love most is that there are no units behind mine like more modern builds that have two rows of apartments back-to-back. That means, I... have a window in every room. All of the apartments face into a courtyard. I find that this has really established a peaceful feel as the eye is not distracted by the activity of the avenue.

I enjoy the multi-cultural aspect of living here. I also like the quiet of the complex. Being as all the units are single bedrooms, the complex is full of mostly single people. Some are students and some are working professionals. There are 18 units total at the complex and so our parking lot is small, which I also love!

The entrances are shared with four units, two upper and two lower. That being said, in the entire year I have lived here, I have barely run into anyone coming and going the same time I do. That aspect supports a private atmosphere. The apartments have both a front door and a back door.

Generally, my neighbors are respectful, friendly, and welcoming. Maintenance is responsive and timely.

The kitchens are small but adequate. (gas stove and oven!) We have a very comfortable dining room. Washers and dryers are on campus/not in unit. I have looked other places and while Red Bud may not have everything I want, it sure does have a lot of what is important: affordability, comfort, and convenience.
