Beautiful on the outside, Unlivable on the inside
My experience living in this building has been a nightmare due to deceptive leasing representations and inescapable environmental failures.
1. MISLEADING APPLICATION PROCESS: During my initial tour and throughout the application process, I was provided with highly inaccurate information regarding the building's safety, smoking policies, and overall living conditions to influence my decision to sign the lease. Once moved in, management completely changed the story, leaving me trapped in an... environment that contradicts what was promised, and compromising my health.
2. SEVERE BATHROOM VENT & CORRIDOR INFILTRATION: Foul waste odors, heavy marijuana and tobacco smoke from other tenants actively and constantly flood my apartment through the interior bathroom vents and corridors. The building's ventilation system fails to exhaust these contaminants, forcing raw sewage smells and secondhand smoke straight into the living quarters. The air inside the unit is highly stagnant and consistently contaminated.
3. THE BALCONY & WINDOW TRAP: You cannot escape the odors by opening your doors or windows. The exterior appliance exhaust vents terminate directly inside the private balcony nook instead of clearing the building envelope. The moment you activate the kitchen fan or laundry dryer and crack the balcony door, a pressure vacuum is created that pulls exhaust fumes and hot air straight back into the living room. Furthermore, opening the windows immediately floods the apartment with heavy chemical odors and constant smoke drifting down from the mechanical rooftop deck area.
4. ACTIVE SECURITY ISSUES: The mechanical roof deck doors lack physical locks. Some people routinely gather on the unsecured roof directly above residential units to smoke at various times of the day and night, right next to high-voltage utility equipment, and mechanical air intakes, creating a constant fire and health safety.
Management is fully aware of these severe conditions but has continued to make excuses in providing a livable environment, a clean supply of air, or alternative temporary lodging. Do not sign a lease here unless you are comfortable living in an environment with unfixable ventilation flaws, constant smoke exposure, and active security gaps.
