horrible
Living at Haven Apartments has been a deeply disappointing experience, and I would strongly advise anyone considering it to reconsider.
While the property is heavily marketed as “luxury living,” the reality is far from it. The apartments and amenities do not live up to the marketing, and the management prioritizes appearance over actual quality of life for residents. For example the advertised work spaces for individuals living here are actually where the management work and they take over that... area. Whereas other complexes actually provide the tenants separate work spaces as they advertise, downtown Petaluma La Via even offers tenants different flavors of Kombucha in those workspaces!
Hidden costs are a major issue here. Rent quickly escalates with countless mandatory fees, including excessive charges for utilities, trash, and administrative add-ons that were not made clear upfront. And those charges are found to be bogus (not actually what you used) and the electric company attempts to help but says the management will not respond. What initially seems like a reasonable price will end up being much higher once all the hidden fees are added.
Security is a serious concern. It is extremely common for individuals who do not live on the property, including homeless individuals and people wandering in from off the street, to enter the community without restriction. There is no meaningful on-site security presence to protect residents or deter unauthorized access.
Management is unresponsive and disorganized. Service requests take far longer than promised, and residents' concerns are often brushed aside. Communication is poor, and resolving even basic issues requires repeated follow-ups.
At the prices charged, tenants should expect better, not only in terms of the apartment itself but in how the community is managed and secured. Haven Apartments fails on both counts. Please save yourself and chose another place to live.
If you're looking for a safe, transparent, and truly high-quality living experience, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere.
