The apartment building is tucked away nicely on a quiet street, surrounded by surprisingly beautiful houses North, West, and South. To the East is Georgia Avenue and Walmart, which is convenient although not as lovely an area. As for buses the 50s and a few 70s are either up the road or a short walk away, making transportation a non issue.
The building itself is kept clean, quiet, and the tenants are friendly although not intrusive. My apartment has lots of charm wrapped around moulding,... angular archways, pleasantly hidden closet space/storage, and hardwood flooring. Being in a city, however uptown, there is something of a vermin issue although it's minor. There used to be mice, they seemed to have scampered off for some weeks now after reporting the issue to the building's management. There are some cockroaches which only seem to enjoy hanging around the kitchen at night (which makes little sense to me as I don't cook), but some Raid and tidiness keeps them in line.
The only issue I've had living here so far (it's been 2 months) is that for about three weeks now the laundry machines in the basement have been out of order. I've brought the issue to the attention of management and nothing has been resolved as of yet. There is a small laundromat about 7 minutes away on 14th, but naturally it'd be far better to just pop down to the basement.
Overall, I would recommend this living space to anyone looking to remain within city limits, without the noise and litter. Read More
