Honest Resident Review – 18 Months at Signal House
I’ve been living here for about 18 months and wanted to share my experience so future residents can make an informed decision.
CONS -
*Management Communication: Honestly, it’s been very poor. Responses to resident concerns are slow (if they come at all), and issues often go unaddressed.
*Safety: This has been an ongoing problem. Several doors (including the Beltline entry/exit and garage access doors) don’t close or lock properly, allowing non-residents to enter. There have been unhoused... individuals in stairwells and at least two forced entries into units, one involving a robbery. Residents have repeatedly asked for cameras and repairs, but management hasn’t acted. Worse, they’ve declined to update residents on safety issues, saying it’s not their obligation.
*Internet: You’re required to use the building’s internet service—no option to choose your own provider—and it costs $70/month. The service has been unreliable since the building opened. Outages are common, and even when it’s working, the signal is weak—making video calls, streaming, etc. is a struggle. Management promised fixes over a year ago, but nothing has changed. If you work from home, this is a big red flag.
*Parking: Not enough resident spaces. Parking costs $75/month, but the garage is open to the public. Residents can only park on designated floors or risk a ticket—yet the public can park freely, which often leaves residents without spots.
PROS -
*Location: Can’t beat the convenience—close to the Beltline, PCM, downtown, midtown, etc.
*Finishes: The interiors are genuinely beautiful—probably the nicest I’ve seen in a rental.
*Views: Units 06–12 (especially higher floors) have amazing city views.
Leasing Team: Leasing agents are friendly and helpful.
*Concierge: The front desk team is fantastic—especially the weekday morning/afternoon concierge.
BOTTOM LINE -
After 18 months, I’ve decided I will not renew at the end of this term. When I renewed six months ago, I did so with the expectation that ongoing issues would finally be resolved—but they haven’t been. I understand that every building has its quirks, but the lack of communication and inaction from management—especially on safety—has been the dealbreaker. On top of that, unreliable internet and parking only add to the frustration. If I could leave early without penalty, I would.
