I wanted to like Luna Park, but overall this has been a very disappointing living experience.
There are outdoor areas for dogs, but trash cans and bag stations are rarely stocked or maintained. The dog park itself could be nice, but trash is often overflowing and the entrance turns into a muddy mess. Around the dumpsters and parking areas, there is frequently broken glass, which feels unsafe—especially for pets.
Move-in & cleanliness:
My apartment was dirty at move-in. I moved in on a Saturday and had to clean the unit myself. Management only offered to send cleaners after I had already... done the cleaning, which was frustrating. Additionally, several move-in fees were not clearly outlined in the lease, and I felt blindsided at move-in. I am still waiting for clarity on what portion of those fees, if any, will be refunded.
Parking:
I requested a parking space before move-in and did not receive one until three months later. Parking enforcement is inconsistent—people park without paying, which makes it unclear why I’m paying $60/month. Snow plowing in the parking lots is very poorly done, making the garage feel like a necessity rather than a convenience.
Trash & building maintenance:
Trash chutes are frequently locked, and when they are, residents leave trash outside the chute room. Trash often sits inside the chute room as well, and management does not seem to address it. The elevators are constantly dirty.
Smoking & air quality:
The apartment in building 1600 regularly smells like cigarette smoke. This has been an ongoing issue, and management has not taken effective steps to resolve it.
Safety & utilities:
Packages are stolen regularly. Water was shut off right before the holidays for “routine maintenance,” but no notice was given. Heating and AC have never worked properly, and there is mold in the unit. I was told I could wipe it down myself and that it could not be remediated, which is concerning.
Noise & laundry:
Noise is a frequent problem, with loud music and yelling late at night. Laundry is also expensive—$3 per wash and $2.40 per dry—which adds up quickly.
The maintenance staff are truly wonderful. They are responsive, kind, and clearly doing their best with very old buildings and limited resources. They are the only consistently positive part of living here.
Luna Park has potential, but management issues, cleanliness problems, safety concerns, and poor communication make it hard to recommend. I would strongly suggest touring thoroughly, asking detailed questions, and getting everything in writing before considering a lease here.
