I absolutely love my apartment.

Location (Positive)
The location is great as I walk to uptown everyday. It's a 15 minute walk to my building (where Panera is). It can be a little troublesome in hot weather or rain, but the light rail is nearby if I ever want to take it. The only issue with the light rail is that I feel like I would spend more time going to the stop and waiting than if I just walked all the way (if headed North). Otherwise, Uptown and South End is in walking distance for any... of those events.

Noise (Very positive)
One of the biggest advantages Grandview has is it's stone construction. My next door neighbors are college kids that like to party. However, I did not realize they were so loud until I was in the hallway outside their door. The concrete walls do a great job of sound protection and the only real complaints I have is when they are screaming on their porch after a Panthers game. The windows tend to let some noise through.

Parking/Traffic (slightly negative)
I have never had a problem with resident parking and can always get parking near my elevator. Traffic is not bad but it backs up during any uptown events (i.e. Panthers games). However, visitor parking is limited to just the first floor of the garage and it fills up quickly during busy weekends. Visitor parking also shares spaces with any of the businesses in the building.

Apartment Layout (positive)
I have the Uptown studio apartment. The size and layout is weird for a studio. The size of the apartment is good for two people but too large for just myself. You get a large porch that is good for entertaining. However, entertaining guests and cooking tend to be a problem since the sleeping area is open...but that's what you get for a studio. There is a 7ft wall that blocks the sleeping area from the kitchen, but otherwise it's completely open above and around the wall. There is at least a decent amount of storage space and a great walk in closet to hide clutter. The layout of the space is different with the diagonal wall. You can get a little creative, but it's too narrow to do a lot with it.

Price point (Neutral)
This is a luxury apartment near uptown. You will definitely pay for it. I sometimes feel like I'm overpaying for what I have, but the main things I value are concrete floors (style and noise) and location. There are only a handful that meets those concerns in Charlotte and this is definitely near the top for value with those items. Lee mas
