Application Expenses Outrageous!

These people claim that they need $300 PER PERSON for NON-REFUNDABLE background check fees in addition to apartment reservation fees and office/application fees.
First I filled out an application and emailed it to them, THEN they hand wrote OUTRAGEOUS numbers and sent it back to me for a signature. I would have been in line to get a 2 bedroom apartment right away but we're retired and can not afford to throw away $600.00.
It only costs $25 to do a COMPLETE background check per person.

We apologize for the experience describe above. The fees and procedures you are referring to sound very different from what we charge and how we process the applications at Dannelly. Below is a quick explanation of our process. We do invite you to... apply at Dannelly if it meets your needs.
The application fee is $25 fee per household. Once the application is processed, pre-approved and there is an apartment available for rent, we ask for a deposit in the amount of $200-$300 per household. The security deposit is 100% refundable. We do not have a reservation fee or any other fees, except the rent, which is paid when you move in.
If you would like to place a rental application, we will be more than glad to accept it. Please don’t hesitate to contact us.
