The Merrick Apartamentos

My wife and I have lived at the Merrick for going on six years. We love the location and the facility itself, as well as the wonderful staff. This week, the main shelf in our refrigerator broke. It was made of tempered glass, and it chose this week to give up the ghost, shattering into a million pieces. I explained the situation to Faye Ramone who works in the front office. She was both sympathetic to the problem, and extremely helpful and efficient. She responded immediately, organized the... necessary resources, and we had a new refrigerator installed the very next day. I can’t thank Faye enough for all the help. The rest of the staff has been very friendly and helpful on other occasions as well. The Merrick is a great place to live! Lee mas

I will be starting my 7th year at the Merrick soon. The amenities (Gym, Amazon Locker, Secure Mailroom, Garage Parking, Rooftop Patio, Hot-tub Spa and Skylounge with kitchen and 65" Flatscreen TV ) are terrific and so is the location. A shout-out and kudos to our current staff who have been striving to keep everything neat, clean, and organized. Recent updates on carpeting, painting, and decor. Excellent Northeast side downtown location close to commuting routes, bus, Max, and the Streetcar... .
Personally, whenever I’ve needed a repair or new appliance, they are right on it. Thank you Carmela, Jorge, Fernando, Tiffany, Faye, Jessica, JuliAnn and Katie for all you do for us. Lee mas

Management does not care about you. You will complain and ask about an issue over and over and they will push it off over and over. Stay away.

We had a fantastic time touring the apartments, and the realtor lady was very clear about prices and options. what was weird was she kept pushing an option out of price range with vaulted ceilings, when she had listed about 4 inside our range that were perfect for us. When we went to apply we found out why-not only had the style of apartment we had been looking out, which had several available, have no availability, but all the prices had gone up at least $300 anyway. The only thing actually... available was the apartment with vaulted ceilings.

Lived here 3 years. This place goes to great lengths to create an aura of modern high-end living, but it's all thin window dressing on a very poorly constructed building. The walls and ceilings are very thin, and every footstep above you is magnified as the acoustics are similar to living inside a drum. Doors will slam all summer with unit-shaking intensity as an open window will create this weird air-flow dynamic.

While the staff is amiable, the tenants are a different story. There is constant... abuse of the trash rooms, dog poop in the stairwell, fire alarms pulled in the middle of the night on a monthly basis, and the kind of person in the gym who loads all the weights onto the bench press bar and drops it as loud as he can. With the thin walls, this is a supremely obnoxious amount of aggressive noise and it's highly stressful.

Your rent will increase at a steady clip, greatly exceeding than what a new tenant will pay for the same sized unit. Lee mas
