Shady management and horrible front office communication
My wife and I lived there from May 2024 to July 2025. Overall the units and location were nice but towards the end and after the lease ended we have had horrible problems with their front office communications and property management. We extended our lease to month to month for the last two months we were there. I reached out multiple times to the front office to ensure that our internet would extend in these extra months as wifi/internet is managed by the apartment. I communicated the urgency... of this need as I work from home and they assured me they would be able to extend the wifi alongside the lease (including a week before the initial lease was supposed to end I received an email saying the internet would cut off and they again assured me they extended it in this email). Of course, my apartment did lose wifi on the date of the original lease termination despite the apartment’s assurance that they would extend it. We eventually moved out in July 2025 and have not received any communication (email or mail) from the apartment complex/company and then in October we received an email from them saying we have a delinquent payment of about $500 for cleaning fees (including $125 charge for “paint depreciation”). We cleaned the apartment thoroughly upon move out. I called multiple times to the number provided to attempt to settle the balance and even went to the property to settle it in person and was told they could not settle the payment at the property and I would need to call their settlements team or corporate office. When I tried to call the number I was given for settling the payment, it just directed me back to the Wallis and baker leasing number for general inquiries, which was never answered upon calling nor would my calls/ messages to the number be returned. Weeks later after I emailed asking for clarification on the unsettled payment, I finally received an email response informing me that this balance had already been sent to collections. We have never been late making a rent payment nor did we ever have any complaints against us so for the property management to send us to collections after not responding to our attempts at communication is incredibly frustrating.
