Located about 250 miles south of Salt Lake City, Cedar City is a small town that offers major opportunities for outdoor adventure. Nicknamed the Gateway to Utah's National Parks, Cedar City is near Cedar Breaks National Monument, Bryce Canyon National Park, and Zion National Park. The town is also convenient to Brian Head Resort, a ski resort that boasts Utah's highest base elevation. Since Cedar City residents have access to so many local and national parks, hiking, camping, and other outdoor hobbies are very popular here. Complemented by incredible mountain views, Cedar City has a variety of single-family houses and mid-rise apartments available for rent. Along with its proximity to national parks, Cedar City is also known as Festival City since the town is home to numerous signature events including the Utah Shakespeare Festival and the Utah Summer Games. Southern Utah University is located in Cedar City as well, adding a college-town feel to the area.
