Living in Salt Lake City UT

While the 75-mile-long Great Salt Lake may be the main attraction in Salt Lake City, it isn't the only one. This is ski country, home to 14 ski resorts, an impressive collection of mountains to choose from, and an average yearly snowfall of 500 inches. Known as the "Crossroads of the West," Salt Lake City was founded in 1847 by followers of the LDS Church, led by Brigham Young. Today, Salt Lake City is home to several colleges and universities, including the University of Utah. Salt Lake City's most notable manmade landmark, the Salt Lake Temple, was built in 1893 and is an impressive 222 feet high. It sits on 10 acres of land known as Temple Square. Other destinations include the Natural History Museum of Utah and the Loveland Living Planet Aquarium. Salt Lake City is very bicycle friendly with over 150 miles of bike lanes, off-road tracks, and trails. The Beehive State contains several terrific neighborhoods. Downtown Salt Lake City provides a variety of restaurants, nightlife, a farmer's market, and basketball games courtesy of the Utah Jazz. If you want a neighborhood that's a little bit quirky, find a rental in Central City or Sugar House. The University/Foothill neighborhood is ideal for students or those who want to be near the university, but it's also great if you want a rental with a stunning view.
