Sheridan Ocean Club Apartments

The property looks great from the outside. My experience living here was a different story.

Under the current management, conditions here became intolerable in my view. When I raised reasonable, good-faith concerns about how the community's own rules were being applied, the response wasn't to address them — it was to hand the matter to attorneys. In my opinion, that's a community more willing to spend on legal letters than on managing the property fairly.

If you're touring: walk the property... on your own, not just the route you're shown. Talk to current residents away from staff. Get every commitment in writing.

Living here has became incredible frustrating, and management completely ignores the tenants. The community amenities are useless now. The outdoor bathrooms is permanently locked, leaving guests and residents with no choice but to use the pool as a restroom. The pool área itself is never cleaned anymore, and the hours are restricted so severely that you cannot even use it after work. Worst of all, there is a severe pest infestation. Clean, safe, and well-maintained community with friendly neighbors, especially in Building 5. Walking distance to the beach, plenty of parking, beautiful nature and views, and an excellent location.

Recently moved from out of state and made the mistake of selecting Sheridan Ocean Club. I'll start by saying the guys in maintenance are great and respond quickly. Thank you. As for management, ugh. Apparently there's been a change recently and my neighbors tell me it used to be a much nicer place to live.
This property is owned by private equity. Starwood Capital Group. Therefore PROFITS are #1 and Tenants come a very distant second. The revenue driven management style here is a direct... result of this business model. Lose a mail key, pay a fine immediately to get a replacement. Live with neighbors who grill with both charcoal and propane grills, NO enforcement. Correction - the enforcement is a 10 day warning notice that management will come inspect all balconies. The number of grills that disappeared after that notice was laughable.

After nearly 10 years at Sheridan Ocean Club, I can honestly say the property has gone through a noticeable decline.

The overall living experience has changed for the worse, and that frustration is not just mine. More and more conversations with fellow residents reflect the same disappointment with where the community is headed.

What used to feel like a well-managed place to live now feels neglected, frustrating, and no longer worth staying for. That became obvious immediately after a... management change at the S.Florida Regional Office.
