Oaks at Normandy
BE AWARE - DO NOT MOVE INTO THIS APARTMENT AND SIGN A LEASE. I am writing this to strongly advise against moving into Oaks at Normandy. This property is managed by what appear to be slumlords whose only priority is maximizing profit through aggressive fees and minimum effort on necessary repairs. Maintenance is non-existent. When my AC stopped working entirely, they came, looked at it, and promised to return to flush the system and replace the filter—they never returned. This pattern holds true... for all requests. They will acknowledge the issue in the office, but nothing ever gets fixed. It is clear that resident comfort and safety are not a priority. We experienced significant water leaks and water damage stains in both my bedroom and my children's bedroom. Their solution was to simply paint over the water stains rather than addressing the source of the leak, a truly dishonest and temporary fix. The most egregious issue was a large, gaping hole on the roof outside my unit (a three-story building). This was left open for two to three months, creating a risk for pests and continued water intrusion. Maintenance finally made the repair the week after we moved out. This level of negligence is unacceptable. The front office staff is professional in conversation, but their actions prove they simply do not care. The entire operation seems geared toward finding ways to scam current and moving-out residents. They find every minor detail to hit you with fees and violations, making it feel like they are actively trying to take as much money from you as possible. Furthermore, this complex was a gated community, but the gate was consistently broken and left open, rendering the community anything but secure. This lack of security led directly to my car being stolen within the first few months of moving there, and the complex did nothing to address or remedy this. BOTTOM LINE: If you value functional amenities, timely repairs, and honest management, avoid Oaks at Normandy. Save yourself the stress, the health risks from unrepaired water damage, and the constant threat of predatory fees.
