Not Student Friendly Rude Service
On both the website and during our initial visit, there was no indication that full-time students were automatically disqualified from housing. When my future roommate and I visited to determine whether we qualified, we specifically asked questions about the student eligibility requirements.
During that conversation, the property manager informed us that we would not qualify. However, after reviewing the qualification paperwork provided by the property, I found that it explicitly states:... "Full-time student households are not eligible for tax credit affordable housing unless the household meets one of five specific exceptions as outlined by the program." This language indicates that full-time students may qualify if they meet one of the listed exceptions.
Rather than helping us determine whether we met any of those exceptions, we felt dismissed and were repeatedly told we would not qualify. As prospective residents simply trying to understand the requirements, we expected clear information and professional guidance.
I have rented apartments before and have never experienced customer service that felt so discouraging. Many of my questions were met with a condescending tone, which left me feeling as though my concerns were not being taken seriously. Regardless of whether we ultimately qualified, I believe prospective applicants should be treated with respect and given accurate information about the property's eligibility requirements.
Overall, it was a disappointing experience and not the level of professionalism I expected from a housing community.
