Canal Lofts

The apartment building itself is nice. W/D in unit plus coin operated machines in the lower level. Meeting space to entertain for the game. A small but neatly kept fitness facility. Key controlled access to the entrance with intercom and key control access for the 3rd and 4th floors. Heat, AC, hot water, sewage, and garbage are all included in the rent. No dogs though. Cats are ok. Maintenance Team is top notch as is the office crew. The first Friday of every month they have a very nice... continental breakfast to go for the residents. A monthly news letter is distributed and several community events are planned for the residents.

If I had an apartment

Well I don't have an apartment... Yet . But if I did this would certainly be where I'd live . Natural light , new appliances and nice location. What more could you ask for ... Well besides free rent, short review I know but entertaining hope you enjoyed !

Loft style living

The apartment is great! It has high end finishes, brick exposure, wood beams, and huge windows. It is a great location to the downtown area. The staff is quick to maintenance orders as well. The only downside is the noise level from the streets. Wednesday nights are bike nights and can become very loud from bikers. That's the only reason for the 4 stars. Granted, the apartment is on a street with a lot of bars so the noise level is to be expected. Beautiful apartment though!

Good living, inside and out.

The Canal Lofts is a great place to live in an eclectic community that is not lacking in fun.

PROS: The apartment is gorgeous. We live in a loft style unit with exposed brick and duct work along with over 20 foot ceilings. The tallest wall in our apartment is also the outward facing wall with 4 large windows and all exposed brick. The kitchen appliances are stainless steel and in great shape, and the wood floors and granite counter tops help make it feel upscale and modern.
The amenities are...
decent, a small gym that is surprisingly unoccupied most of the time and a lounge area. There is also a laundromat for the lower levels that are without a washer/dryer in the unit.
The area is also great for young couples or singles, perfect for students in a town riddled with colleges. Water Street is definitely a party scene on the weekends and has some great bars and eateries. Also, there is a Farmer's Market in the Crompton Collective about three blocks away every Saturday morning where you can get local farmed produce and meats as well as items crafted by local artisans.
And last but not least, the staff. They are great with their response time if you have an issue and are also willing to help out if you just need some assistance or advice.

CONS: It can get LOUD...Water Street is pretty happening on the weekends and there is usually a good bit of alcohol-fueled yelling and/or fighting to keep you up at night. Also, Wednesday is apparently something called "Bike Night" and it sounds like the theme is whoever has the loudest motorcycle wins. Excessive revving and racing can last long into the night. On the plus side, the police are pretty responsive if it gets too out of hand.
The other thing is more annoying than a serious problem but the water pressure can fluctuate without warning. The shower can suddenly go from a comfortable spray to a slow dribble.

Overall I would definitely recommend the Canal Lofts to anyone looking for a place to live in the Worcester area.
