Studio One Apartments
Great location for Wayne State students, DMC and Henry ford employees, and anyone working downtown. Modern furnishings and quick maintenance. Studios and one bedrooms are very expensive. Two bedroom apartments are more affordable but the rooms aren't always the same size and not all have their own bathroom so check before you sign and talk to your roommates. The balconies are nice but there isn't much to look at and there's restaurant, street, or machine noise that makes them irrelevant. You can... call WSU police if necessary and they respond quickly. You cannot open the windows but the air and heat work well.
The biggest drawback is management. The office hours are 10-5 Monday through Friday. Your packages can be locked in there over the weekend. Also sometimes the staff leaves early and don't return urgent phone calls. They also go straight to eviction papers of you miss even a single months rent even if they misplace your check. Them they still require you to pay the legal fees. More frequently has power outages and water tank breaks than neighboring buildings. Some units have new washer/dryers that work well but make the bathroom they're in very humid. The other units have a combo washer dryer that does NOT work at all. The shades are not very good at making rooms dark and the windows have no reflection treatment so you can totally see in all the time. The website is also misleading about parking. You have to use the Wayne State University structure only. Those rates are high and change every year.
Overall fairly secure and nice but management and neighboring structures noise can be a drawback depending on your unit.
