Decent for Short-Term Stay, But Be Aware of the Downsides
If you're looking for a temporary place to stay, this community might work—but there are several important issues to consider:
Outdated and Worn Infrastructure: Most appliances and building components are very old and in poor condition. While the maintenance staff are friendly and try their best, they seem to be limited by budget constraints. For example, the balcony door in my unit was severely delaminated, and even though I was told at move-in it would be replaced, nothing was done during my... two-year stay. Fixtures were loose, the toilet often clogged, blinds kept falling down despite repeated attempts to fix them, and sliding doors constantly jammed. The floors and bathtub also creaked and squeaked with every step.
Inconvenient and Uncomfortable Situations: At one point, my wife and I were forced to stay outside in the middle of winter—sometimes late at night—for an entire week due to a city inspection that required access to our unit. There was no proper arrangement or support offered during that time.
Poor Communication: Management was largely unresponsive to emails and messages regarding maintenance issues and general concerns. Getting a reply was often difficult, and follow-through was inconsistent.
In summary, this is an older apartment community with quite a few maintenance and management issues. On the bright side, the neighborhood is quiet, and the location is convenient, with decent neighbors. I hope this helps you make an informed decision when considering your next home.
