Great place to live
I have never lived anywhere so quiet and management is so friendly and extremely helpful. We have had nothing but good experiences here. I highly highly recommend Mahtomedi Flats to anyone who asks!

Poor management
They dont care. we pay for a storage unit and they just let people use their garage spots as storage. total slap in the face to those of us trying to be good tenants and respect the policy.
They are unresponsive to after hour requests, and dont do anything about neighbors with dogs that bark all day. Cant even enjoy a peaceful weekend b/c neighbors leave the dog home alone ALL DAY literally 8am to 5pm and it barks constantly.

Excellent place to live
We have lived here since April 2023 and have enjoyed it immensely. The location and price are wonderful (having ALDI next door is an underrated perk) and really enjoy using the gym and outdoor patio. The only strange thing has been some policies around not being able to store things in your parking spot (we pay for it, so we should be able to use it however). Other than that, it's a great property.

Management is unresponsive
I agree with another reviewer about the marijuana smells. Carpets in the main halls and stairwells are gross. Management was unresponsive on almost everything. Without security cameras in the parking lot, we had our two cars vandalized not once, but three times.

It gets worse by the month
I advise anyone considering Mahtomedi Flats to reconsider. The management is horrible to deal with and the maintenance of common areas offers an environment that is anything but luxury. Stairwell carpet remain filthy throughout the winter. And the halls and other common areas reek of marijuana.
Furthermore, there have been numerous break-ins and vandalism of vehicles. At least one vehicle was stolen. And if you park outside during the winter, be prepared to move your vehicle around their... snow plow schedule.
