Cheap rent and plenty of space in a great location.
The Good:
-Cute, walkable neighborhood - 5 min bike ride to Forest Park, The Loop, Metrolink, Clayton Farmers Market & Great Restaurants
-Very affordable, landlord basically raises rent to match inflation. Not trying to get rich.
-Plenty of longtime tenants (10, 15 and 20 years!)
-Good for low income, poor credit applicants.
-Garage Parking (1 car)
-Frozen Yogurt, Deli and Pizza only a block away!
-Plenty of space for 2, fits 3 nicely and you could make 4 work without sleeping on the... floor.
-Lease says no pets but everyone, including the landlord ignores this clause.
The Neutral:
-Washer & Dryer onsite, always needing quarters.
-Landlord pretty absentee. She won't bother you but sometimes can be difficult to get ahold of. Doesn't own a cellphone, which is comical. Most of the time she'll get back to you in a reasonable amount of time.
The Bad (Or less than optimal):
-There's a family of 4 above us that get pretty loud.
-No dishwasher, garbage disposal.
-Very old apartment, floor, plumbing, etc.
