You can hear EVERYTHING the person living above or across the hall from you does thanks to zero sound insulation and the landlord being extremely cheap. The landlord is also very sketchy and will claim you have to pay for a new air filter each year after signing your lease but then claims that after a year is up that the year-long lease is no longer valid and claim that it’s by month (but they only tell you that when it suits them). The way they handle things is actually illegal and very... unethical. The landlord is crazy cheap and makes you pay a ridiculous amount to use the crappiest quality washer/dryer down in the disgusting and dirty basement and the windows are the cheapest single pane windows that mean you can hear EVERYTHING going on outside.
