Roach infested and management does nothing about it. They do not care and tell you very politely.
Roach infested!!!! Renters beware. I actually enjoy living here except for the roaches and the inability of mgmt solving the problem. I am seeing 5-7 bugs per week with regular extermination (that is ineffective). I have so many work orders submitted for a bug problem but guess what, they do not care. The politely and kindly say...who cares, deal with it. The simplest problem to fix is not worth it to them to resolve. They make excuses such as well you are near trees and it's the South but I've... lived other places and I have never had a bug problem. I could see if we were dirty and didn't clean and left open food out but no, not the case. I'm ready to move over this, contact Corporate, code enforcement and search for the owners to report their lack of problem-solving abilities. With the extremely high turnover, you'd think they would want to resolve this. I would love to stay but I can't get used to living with roaches. Other than that, nice neighborhood, maintenance is pretty good. Seamless move in but I see why now bc they have high turnover and are roach infested. Staff is nice and polite but don't really care...remember this is just business for them. They don't care that this is your temp. home. (based on actions). Words mean nothing without action.

We never like to read that residents are frustrated, and we are very sorry to read that you think we don't care. We have corresponded with you frequently about pest control at your apartment and at our community. Our pest control company has made... every reasonable effort to treat to your satisfaction. They have explained that they cannot treat as often as you would like due to regulations they must follow and the fact that over-treatment is no more effective than treating within the recommended guidelines. They have explained the smoky brown roach is a bug found in this area and they are commonly seen all over the city, state and southeast region. This is not a species that is found only at our community. The pest control company has also offered to speak with you to answer any questions and we have conveyed that to you. We have explained that there are transfer options for you to consider if a change is needed. Our job at the community level is to make residents happy. If you would like to discuss vacating your apartment home, please contact us and we will provide the options available to you.

Disatisfaction Guaranteed
Don't be fooled by the location because it's Ballantyne!! You can get a lot more bang for your buck elsewhere. I moved into this community as a transplant from upstate New York in December 2014. It was beautiful and the staff was awesome. Over the years, I have watched the number of employees in the leasing office come and go with all decency, tact and decorum leaving too. I have lived with an untreated mold and mildew problem for the better part of two and a half years or longer. I was told... it's my responsibility to wipe down the six very large windows in my apartment to avoid moisture build up that lead to the formation on the windows, which they WOULD NOT admit was mold. Additionally, mold was formed on my bathroom ceiling and I was further advised that I need to shower with the exhaust fan running and my bathroom door open to avoid this from occurring. I was provided a small dehumidifier to dry out my apartment after having a giant bulky commercial sized dehumidifier in my master bathroom for a whole week. Today, I have mold forming on my master bedroom ceiling around the air duct vent, I suppose it's also my responsibility to get up and wipe the ceilings too. This place is simply not worth the money!! It looks great on the outside but the physical structure is old and needs renovating. If you have neighbors above you, you will hear each and every step they take. My current neighbor has a large dog and I constantly hear thuds making it impossible to ignore at times. I had a mysterious goo seeping up from underneath my wooden floors that went unaddressed for nearly 6 months until I telephone Camden's Corporate Offices. The leasing office is completely unresponsive and unprofessional which is a direct reflection of poor management. Any concern raised with the previous property manager was always addressed in a timely manner. I have a litany of things gone wrong under the current management and staff, which precipitated me buying a house. After 4 years and 3 months as a Camden resident you would imagine the District manager would have the decency to accommodate my request to end this unhappy relationship 21 days early since I've closed on my new home. This is just another display of Camden's reluctance to take accountability for their less than adequate service. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere before renting here.

I recently moved to the Charlotte area and the management made my relocation very smooth. Maintenance is excellent as well. Very nice and safe environment!

Terrible place to live!
I have rented apartments for the past 3 years in 3 different states. Camden Ballantyne has been the absolute worst. The office is rude and ignores your emails and phone calls.
The maintenance is even worse. They don't know how to fix stuff and expect you to live with malfunctioning appliances. e.g. I was told not to use the XL setting of the washer because they didn't know how to fix the washer problems.
There are safety issues in their community. You hear about break-ins very frequently. Also... , they are overpriced. In Ballantyne, you can find much better complexes that are worth the money you pay.

Can't wait to move in!
Camden Ballantyne is AWESOME! Since I called them, toured, and applied everything has been amazing and easy. The staff is super nice and a huge help in getting things set up for me since I am from out of state. The apartment has great upgraded appliances, is so spacious, has so much storage space, and feels like home! I had looked at a lot of other properties in the Ballantyne area and never felt as welcome as I did here. The grounds are beautiful and so well maintained! The salt water pool is... beautiful and looks like such a fun place to hang out and relax, I cannot wait. They are also super pet friendly and have a really open and clean “Bark Park”. I am looking forward to making Camden my new home in Charlotte and cannot wait to move in.
