Awful Office Staff
The lack of rudimentary communication skills among the West Village's office staff is alarming. For example, it is common to receive emails stating that all apartments will be subjected to an inspection with less than 48 hours’ notice. I replied and stated that it would be helpful to have more advanced notice, which would be easy to do, as if this is such an important annual inspection, it would surely be scheduled well in advance. I received a passive-aggressive reply from Naomi in the office... stating that it would take less than 10 minutes. Again, that is not the point. Another time, the leasing office decided to randomly change locks for everyone in my building and sent an email late Friday stating that if we did not pick up our new keys within a very limited timeframe the following Tuesday, we would be unable to enter our apartments. Again, communication. This was presumably planned as locks would have needed to be ordered, so why were we only told with less than 48 business hours? The elevators are also constantly out of service in the Moore building, and instead of providing updates, the office staff, once again, simply provides passive-aggressive emails stating that “we appreciate your patience.” This would be one thing if the elevators were temporarily out of service, but they were out of service for months, and often, both elevators were out of service at the same time. It is alarming to live in a community where office staff routinely show such blatant disrespect for residents by refusing to communicate in a professional and timely manner.
