The Aristo

I have lived here for about a year now and I absolutely love it. Everything has been completely renovated recently so it's beautiful and clean - including granite counter tops and a nice back-splash in the kitchen. The location is super close to a huge shopping center and Hyde Park Square, and Oakley Square/Target/Kroger/Cinemark are a short drive down the road. There is also close access to quite a few bus routes and I-71. The building appears to be one building but is actually 3. Each of these... 3 buildings have about 12 units and a laundry room, which has 2 washers, 2 dryers, and a locked storage closet for each unit. The tenants are somewhat diverse but consist mostly of young professionals. Many people have dogs.

I have had a few issues with my heat and AC not working when I turned them on the first time for the season, but the property manager and maintenance have been quick to respond and get these issues taken care of. The AC and heat do not circulate as well as I'd like to the bedroom, but the conditions are definitely still livable.

I think the biggest, most constant issue is parking. The surface lot does not hold as many cars as are owned by the tenants so people tend to "create" parking spots in the lot rather than parking on the street (surprisingly this doesn't cause as many issues as it sounds like it would). Even then I've still occasionally had to park on the street, which I personally don't mind since there is plenty of street parking nearby and the area is safe. Read More
