Lived here for over a year. We started noticing bugs in the kitchen and once they did not go away we reported it to the front office. The office came and inspected the bugs and came to the conclusion it was roaches. A WEEK later was when they started the first treatment. They are treating only 2 of the 5 rooms in the apartment and once every 2 weeks. It’s been about a month now. There are still roaches in our bedroom, living room, and home office, in addition to the kitchen and bathroom (the… only places they are “treating”). When asked why we are still being charged full rent when the apartment is not even livable they reply “we are sincerely sorry and will be back for more treatment in two weeks”. There are bugs/roaches in these apartments. Even if they say there isn’t. But the maintenance people are really quick and came the next day to spray and check.

I recently had an unfortunate experience at Island Club apartments while house-sitting for my son, who had recently become a resident. Initially, I was impressed by the scenic views and the quality of his apartment. However, my positive impression was marred on Tuesday morning when my vehicle was unexpectedly towed from the property due to an expired tag. As I am currently in the process of relocating from North Carolina to Ohio and updating my vehicle registration, this oversight occurred… during my transitional period.

Upon visiting the office to inquire about my vehicle, which I learned had been impounded and was informed by the police about its status, I hoped for understanding given the circumstances. While I recognize the importance of adhering to rules and regulations, I believe a warning or notice placed on my vehicle would have been more appropriate, particularly since it was parked with its tag facing away from view against the sidewalk.

I am concerned that the decision to tow my vehicle may have been directed from the office, as it would have required a physical inspection to verify my tag status. Regrettably, my interaction with the office staff was disappointing. Despite explaining my situation, I felt disregarded and received no assistance in facilitating the release of my vehicle from impound, despite there being no cost to the community. This incident resulted in personal expenses totaling $175, in addition to travel fees incurred to retrieve my vehicle.

In conclusion, my experience with Island Club apartments was marked by a lack of empathy and proactive communication, which are essential in fostering a respectful and tenant-friendly living environment. I caution anyone considering relocation or anticipating changes in vehicle registration against choosing Island Club apartments. We were so pleased with the leasing office. They went out of their way to help us and found the best property for our friends. It's a very nice complex and we know our friends will be happy! Nesha is great to work with!
