Ridiculous Move Out Charges
Update 2024
Enjoyed living here at the beginning but near the end new management came in and it wasn’t as great. Parking is horrible, especially near where the semi parking is. Overall, it’s not a bad place to live but we were charged a bunch of bull crap after we moved out. Took a video of the apartment we left, and we were still charged $600. Understand changing the carpet, because we had pets, but we were charged for bending a vent we didn’t bend and for normal wear and tear of living in an... apartment, such as dry wall from hanging pictures up. They sent us a giant two page check list before moving out. I’ve lived in multiple apartments and was never charged for anything or had such a meticulous list sent out. A little ridiculous.

Bad Customer Service
Beware living at these apartments. You may get in for a great deal, but they will over-charge you upon moving out for every possible expense they can invent. They will charge for resurfacing bathtubs, replacing counters in kitchen, replacing the handle on refrigerator door! The management changes regularly - at least once a year and they communicate through leaving letter on your door. They also allow more people than should be allowed to reside in apartments making the community over-crowded... and less than "home".

Overpriced and poorly managed
I would not recommend living here to anyone. When we signed our lease, we were not given a copy. We were told that the manager had to sign it and then they would give us one. So after 2 months go by, I went to the office to get a copy and I was told that the manager is very busy and hasn't had time to sign a paper for 2 whole months. (Really??) About a month later, my brother went to the office to get a copy. They told him the same thing, the manager STILL has not had time to sign our lease. He... insisted that we get it immediately and they told him that they would have her sign it and deliver it to us the next day. We weren't shocked when that didn't happen. We had to make another trip down there and threaten having our lawyer get involved just to get a copy. About a week after we moved in, everything was stolen from our cars. I mentioned it to a few people that I work with and they said that they had friends who lived here and the same thing happened to them. Apparently it's a trend at these apartments. We recently got a letter on our door saying that we needed to remove the 1 strand of lights we had on our balcony railing. These lights had been up for 6 months (rarely ever turned on) and now all of a sudden they needed to be removed before the next inspection, which was the following day. So we took down the lights. A week later we get another letter on our door saying we need to remove the items off of our patio table. The items on the table were 2 small pots for plants. I really can't figure out what trouble we were causing by having plants on our balcony table. I agree with the review a couple down, that gave 1 star. If you need something from them? Good luck. But if they can find ANYTHING to harass you about, they will. A copy of our legal signed document wasn't important to them, but those pots on our outdoor table were! I can't wait until my lease here is over.

Sterling Lakes - The Only Thing MIssing Is You.
Very distinctive and beautifully apartment homes. The ambiance from your balcony overlooking pond with fountain. The green space is well maintained on the property, the staff is very professional. You're minutes away from a major theme park, movie theatre, abundance of restaurants, and parks nearby. Your kids will benefit by attending Mason City Schools, rated “Excellent with Distinction” by the Ohio Department of Education, and your only 20 minutes away from downtown Cincinnati. The only thing... missing is you.
