Artisan Apartments & Shops

My daughter and friend had an agreement (or so they thought) for a certain apartment at a certain price. They arranged to move out of their prior places and storage, rented a truck and rounded up friends for a Saturday move, and at 4:30 the afternoon before the move they got an email saying the apartment wasn't available.

They stopped by the rental office the next morning and were told there was no knowing when the apartment they had agreed upon might be available--but they could have ANOTHER... unit, that was NOT what they wanted and cost more. Take it or leave it. Naturally the one-sided form contract they require renters to sign completely protected them.

All complaints were met with, "So sorry, but there's nothing we can do. It's corporate, you understand--they can't change anything."

No apology, no short-term rent abatement, no nothing--just pay more for a different unit, as we know you are screwed and had already promised your other places a move-out date.

Even if you get things in writing, it probably won't help you, as the corporate guys know you don't have the money to sue them. Read More

I've lived here for over 3 years. They have made my life an absolute nightmare on more than one occasion. The heat and air conditioning have gone down at least 6 times across two apartments in that time frame. The office almost never answers their phone and the people in the office seem to have absolutely no ability to help you with anything above the absolute smallest of things. They require you to use their online maintenance system to put in requests yet for every request I've had in the... last year I've had to have the office put it in on their end because mine was never responded to (and I had put them in multiple times). When I first moved into the old apartment it had multiple leaks in the walls that we could not see. About a year later a high pressure line broke in the wall and flooded the entirety of our place. They took over two weeks to do anything about it. They also randomly change how they do things or who you need to provide your insurance to and then charge your exorbitant fees beyond what the insurance even costs and they do this without telling you until you see it on your bills.

I sincerely hope that if you are reading this and considering moving into this place that I have convinced you otherwise. The apartments look decent but you will live to regret it. This is the worst apartment complex I've lived in in Austin and I've lived in this city for over 15 years. Read More

I’ve lived here since 2020, and honestly, I love it. The convenience, safety, cleanliness, and diverse community make it a great place to call home. Plus, knowing my neighbors adds to the charm.

We love the complex, but our dishwasher has been broken for months and nothing done to properly fix it. Our upstairs neighbors are frequently very noisy. Otherwise it's nice here.
