I’ve lived at The Kenzie since November and have experienced repeated safety and maintenance issues.

The fire alarm has gone off more than eight times, often in the middle of the night, with no clear explanation. During a recent 3 a.m. activation, a firefighter confirmed there was no fire and didn’t know why it triggered — which raises serious concerns about system reliability.

The car gate has been broken since before April, despite being a key advertised amenity. It hasn’t been repaired, yet...
residents are still being charged for a gated community.

There have also been elevator breakdowns and ongoing construction that disrupt shared spaces. In my opinion, these repeated problems reflect poor infrastructure and lack of oversight.

While the property looks nice and some staff are helpful, the overall experience has been frustrating. I can’t confidently recommend it without major improvements in safety and communication.

Chaerli, Thank you for your feedback. While we understand your frustrations, we would like to clarify that there have been no safety incidents at The Kenzie. Fire alarm activations, while rare and monitored by professionals, are thoroughly... investigated.

The garage gate repair is in progress, and we are working with external vendors to complete a permanent fix. Additionally, there have been no confirmed elevator outages; if any concerns arise, we always encourage residents to notify the office immediately so we can assist.

I don’t usually write reviews, but my experience at The Kenzie has been too frustrating to stay quiet. While the staff is courteous, upper management clearly doesn't prioritize residents’ needs. Maintenance is the biggest issue—my washer broke last Thursday and my clothes are still trapped inside days later. There’s no urgency with requests, especially after hours, and you’re often left to resolve things yourself. Repairs are often done with used equipment, causing repeat issues. Our toilet... broke multiple times, water pressure and temperature are inconsistent, and some locks and the garage door have been broken for weeks. I’ve seen a homeless person in the trash room and someone sleeping on the public patio with no follow-up. Maintenance workers even leave tools and trash in common areas. This is unacceptable. Greystar needs to do better—standardize your equipment, fix your services, and don’t raise rent unless you’re improving the living experience.

Amazing experience! Best apartments ever! Staff is very friendly. Location is so good, right in the heart of Austin's Domain. But the lease termination fee and rules is extremely expensive and unreasonable.
