Hall Street Flats

Hall Street Flats is definitely not a place I would recommend. I’ve only been living here for about 2 and a half months, and the experience has been disappointing since before move-in.

There was a major lack of communication and preparedness from the beginning. I originally had a scheduled move-in date, but was later asked to postpone my move-in by 4 days because my unit supposedly was not ready. Even after the delay, when I arrived to pick up my keys, the apartment was still not move-in ready.... The unit was filthy and had visible damage from the ice storm the week prior.

Things only got worse from there. On Wednesday, April 29, I discovered a large pile of termites in the apartment and immediately reported it to the office. I was then told they could not treat the issue until the following Tuesday. Since then, pest control has been coming weekly, yet I am now continuing to deal with ants as well.

The situation has become so uncomfortable that I haven’t even been able to sleep in my own bed peacefully because I’m constantly worried about the bugs and ongoing pest issues. It’s honestly concerning that management considers this a habitable living environment.

I have tried working with management to find a reasonable solution. I requested to break my lease without penalty due to the ongoing pest issues and living conditions, but they refused. I also requested a unit transfer and was denied again. I even asked for some form of credit or accommodation for the inconvenience, and that was refused as well.

Overall, the lack of urgency, communication, and accountability has made this an extremely frustrating experience, especially considering I’ve only been here a short amount of time. Read More

While I was inside my apartment, my unit was shot at. A bullet penetrated my living room wall and landed on my kitchen floor. This is not an exaggeration or a figure of speech — it is a documented, life-threatening incident that occurred on Hall Street Flats property.

The response from management was appalling. Melissa, the Property Manager, demonstrated a complete lack of professionalism, urgency, or basic human concern. In the weeks following a firearm-related incident inside my home,... management was largely unreachable. Calls and emails went unanswered for days at a time, and staff repeatedly claimed Melissa was “out of the office.”

When I was finally able to speak with her, Melissa was dismissive and made a point to repeatedly state that management was “not legally responsible” — rather than addressing resident safety, next steps, or offering any meaningful support. Shockingly, over the course of approximately one month, she introduced herself to me multiple times, apparently unable to recognize or remember the resident whose apartment had been breached by gunfire.

There was no clear communication, no transparency, and no accountability. I ultimately moved out, believing the ordeal was over.

Three months later, I received a notice from a debt collection agency alleging I owe Hall Street Flats $159. I was never notified of any outstanding balance, never provided an explanation, and never given an opportunity to dispute the charge before it was escalated to collections. This raises serious concerns about their billing practices and recordkeeping.

Between the dangerous location, grossly negligent management response to a violent incident, and questionable post-move-out financial practices, Hall Street Flats is a place I would strongly advise anyone to avoid. I love it here! Staff is always nice. Haven’t had a bad experience. Love that everything is nearby. Renewed my lease as soon as I could! Definitely recommend.

We will not be renewing our lease here due to people being disrespectful of volume at the pool at night. We wake up at 5am. If it was them, they would be annoyed too. I wish there was clear hours about noise. We understand it’s summer, but to be woken up by loud screams is extremely disrespectful to those who also live in this community. These people also let their guest take up our parking spaces as I’ve seen them use their parking sticker to let others in. They also not mindful of picking up... after themselves so the shared space is not always kept clean. I absolutely love it here. It’s an amazing apartment complex with great amenities. The apartment is also very modern a staff is very helpful. Would highly recommend this place.
