Don’t do it

My experience at The Haven at Chisholm Trail was extremely frustrating, particularly after I moved out.

My lease ended on July 24, 2026, and I moved out and returned my keys on July 17. I had already provided the required 60-day notice of nonrenewal, which the apartment management acknowledged in writing. When I returned my keys, I also provided my forwarding address. Despite this, the complex continued charging me rent after my lease ended.

For nearly two months, I called, left voicemails,… and sent emails trying to correct my account and receive information about my $250 security deposit. I repeatedly received the runaround. When I finally spoke with the manager, Daleesha, she said resolving the issue would take a few more days and assured me that she would call by 6:00 p.m. on September 11. She did not call. Instead, I received an email around 7:00 p.m. stating that she had experienced an off-site emergency. She also claimed that two final water bills—because water is billed in arrears—totaled exactly $250, the same amount as my security deposit. However, I have not been provided an itemized statement showing those charges (despite my request).

I lived at this complex for 13 months. During that time, the water was shut off numerous times, maintenance requests remained unresolved for extended periods, and there was a shooting directly outside my door. Management even asked me to provide footage from my Ring camera. Maintenance did improve after the new owners took over, and Heather was the only staff member who was consistently helpful.

Based on my experience, I would not recommend this complex. I intend to contact Valiant Residential regarding the continued mishandling of my account, the lack of documentation concerning my security deposit, and the poor communication from management.

I’m calling this home

My experience at this apartment complex hasn’t been the easiest, especially with the changes in ownership along the way. However, I truly want to highlight the leasing team and on-site staff for the effort they consistently put in. They have been accommodating, attentive, and responsive to my needs despite the transitions happening behind the scenes.

What stands out most is their willingness to listen and do their best to create a comfortable and stable living environment. That level of care… has made a meaningful difference for me and has helped this place feel like somewhere I can see myself staying long-term.

If you’re considering working with this team, I would encourage you to do so. They are professional, kind, and genuinely committed to supporting their residents.

DONT RENT HERE

i’m a new tenant and the AC was not working the first day of my lease. it’s been a week and the AC still hasn’t been fixed. the management here is terrible

Management is terrible

The apartment complex itself is nice, but the management? Terrible. They took over 1k from me when I moved in and never put it in my account. I've lived here a year now. They have the receipts, i have the receipts, and yet nothing has been posted. I've never been able to use the wifi that I pay every month for, I've had my heater out the whole time I've lived here, and my toilet was broken over a month and they kept marking it as fixed when it was not. They are now kicking me out when they… should not be. I am so done with this apartment complex, run far and run fast does not even cover the half of it.
