Calais Midtown

Mold. I would personally tell all my friends and family to stay away. Not a huge issue for me as I use stairs but elevator stops working at least once a month for a good week at a time. Was really hoping this would be the right place as it’s close to work, only good thing about these apartments is feng cha! Living at Calais Midtown has been awesome! The staff is super friendly and quick to help with anything, and the location can’t be beat. Close to restaurants, nightlife, and downtown. The place is clean, quiet, and really feels like home.

There has been construction on the building and the surrounding streets for the entirety of my lease. There is drag racing that happens on the street directly next to the apartment building. They are planning on starting a remodeling project inside the building soon, and have sent emails out to residents telling them to expect noise. Do not sign a lease here.

Nothing in this place works. The garage gates are always broken, the elevators get stuck once a week and the entire community is unsafe. People's cars get broken into constantly and the homeless just hang around the area with free access to the apartments. Also nothing gets fixed in a timely manner when requested.

The gate problem still persists with no guarantee of a solution. The garage is dark, there are no security cameras or guards, and the gates have been open for almost a year. My car was vandalized twice last December. Management blames vendors, but that excuse seems pretty weak at this point. The only thing management has done is put up a sign that they’re not responsible for damage to our cars. This complex has a lot of positives, but if I were a woman I wouldn’t live here.
