My experience at Volta has been so positive. From the second I met the Leasing Staff and the Property Manager, I felt comfortable. They care about their tenants, and they treat everyone with consideration and a desire to meet their needs. The maintenance crew has been exceptional, and they've been attentive to any issue that has arisen, even showing up after hours in the middle of a torrential downpour once to help with a repair! I love my apartment, the facilities, and my neighbors. We are a... diverse building with people from all cultures, and I've met so many cool people here. This is the first time I've lived in an urban setting and in a larger apartment building, and I'm so happy I landed at Volta. People are real here, and it's a pleasure to live in this community.

I would not recommend living here.
From the application process to now, just three weeks after moving in, every single day has been a struggle. The main issue is property management. Communication with the leasing office is terrible, no one is on the same page, and there is a complete lack of organization and accountability.
When I toured the building, I was greeted by a friendly leasing agent and everything looked great. The amenities, pool, and exterior are beautiful, and the apartments...
appear updated. That is where the positives end.
During the tour, I was shown a specific unit with a specific floor plan. I was told the actual unit I would be renting wasn’t available to view, but that it was the same layout on a different floor. I applied based on that information.
On move-in day, I was given a completely different apartment with a completely different floor plan. Nothing fit. I went to the leasing office and was told I would need to do a unit transfer. Within my first week of living here, I had to hire movers again to move all of my belongings from one floor to another. None of this was refunded and it was entirely out of pocket.
Since then, it has been constant miscommunication. One person says one thing, another says something completely different. No one takes notes, no one tracks ongoing issues, and every conversation feels like starting from scratch. I’ve spoken with at least six different staff members, and nothing ever seems fully resolved.
To make matters worse, one of the elevators has been broken for months, trash is frequently left around the parking lot, packages are stolen from the mail room and basic property management standards are not being met. I received threats of eviction notices, voicemails and phone calls even though I was told to wait for my refund. It is almost mid January and my problem still has not been resolved. I will follow up again today to see the update on my account.
Overall, I am extremely unhappy and disappointed with the experience and the level of customer service. I am in the leasing office far more than I should be for a brand-new lease. I would not recommend living here.

The window blinds fell off the wall one night so the next morning we submitted a work order. By the next day someone was here to fix them. It only took the repair guy like an hour and we were able to move on with our day. Both my girlfriend and I were very happy with the service.

Volta on Pine is an average apartment complex. The unit was clean upon move in, appliances all functional, however, it seemed as though our unit was broken into through the porch (there’s chipped paint in the doorway suggesting someone trying to get in and wires were pulled out of the WiFi box in the closet). The heating/cooling system is nice. Sink, and cabinets are poorly designed. I love the high ceilings for the aesthetic however our unit was missing the pull down curtains for the top... windows so during the late afternoon, there was no way to avoid a glare on the tv or brightness in the unit. Room and living room are small, ample room for two people to live but definitely not large enough to host more than five people.

There’s usually one elevator down in the lobby. The gym is fine, has usual equipment. Tv in yoga room doesn’t work. The lock on the gym door never worked so anyone can come in and out if they come into the building. The door leading to the hallway of my unit doesn’t have a doorknob so it’s propped open. There’s a mailroom but you have to get the code from management. The parking garage have had break ins (not me thank goodness), the parking stalls are really small. We had a horrible fruit fly problem during the summer, the garage room on our floor had been left full for over three months, so that was probably to worst thing we experienced while here.

There’s pool area is nice, typical pool spa and bbq area. Many loud parties during the summer. Top floor sky room is my favorite amenity, offers awesome view of San Pedro and LA. Great for a little quiet moment to clear your head or someplace to have coffee or your dinner. The location is awesome, walking distance from food, groceries, shopping, entertainment.

Id say Volta on Pine is exactly a ok place to live. If you’re looking for someplace nice enough to lay your head, a hub for going out and exploring Long Beach, then this place is fine. The amenities, cleanliness, and apartment offerings are average to below average depending on the day but never consistently clean and kept up. The lobby/office always looked squeaky clean, but the trash rooms, trash cans, parking garage and stairway to parking garage are always some kind of gross. I’d recommend it for a person/couple/roommates on the go, I wouldn’t recommend it for families or long term living, or anyone concerned with trash piling up.
