Thanks Phyllis
I honestly don’t know why I expected anything different. I had similar issues with this property years ago, and unfortunately, nothing seems to have changed.
Over the course of my apartment search, I attempted to visit Lyra multiple times. Twice I stopped by in person only to find no one available, the front entrance inaccessible, and no staff at the desk. I called several times over multiple days and couldn’t get a hold of anybody.
I then scheduled an appointment through Apartments.com and... confirmed a time via email. I rearranged my schedule and showed up for the appointment, only to be completely no-showed. No call. No text. No apology. No follow-up. No accountability.
That’s what bothered me the most. Everyone makes mistakes, but professional management follows up and takes ownership. Instead, I was left wondering if anyone even knew I was there.
This isn’t about one employee (Phyllis). This feels like a company problem. When communication, responsiveness, and customer service are this poor before you’ve even signed a lease, it’s fair to wonder what happens after move-in when you have maintenance requests or real issues.
It’s also worth noting that their rent prices have dropped significantly over the last 2 years (25%).
That’s a red flag.
The location itself is right next to I-25, which means freeway noise should be something prospective residents carefully evaluate. There are many communities competing for renters right now, and customer service matters.
I ultimately decided to take my business elsewhere. If management reads this, I hope they focus less on marketing “luxury” and more on answering phones, showing up to appointments, and treating prospective residents with professionalism and respect.
Look into your employee, Phyllis.
