We moved into Tangent Apartments in 2021, when Shea Properties was the management company. They provided a level of service you would expect for the price, as the building and grounds were well-kept and the staff addressed any noise or maintenance concerns within a timely manner.
Greystar took over this location in November 2025, without prior notice to current residents, except for placing a flimsy piece of paper in our door. This did not go over well, considering Greystar's well-earned... "reputation". I will be the first to admit that I was a bit hostile with the Greystar employees when they got here but after things simmered down, I tried to give them a chance.
While cosmetic changes have been made, including new interior paint and a refinished pool, there are several quality of life issues that continue to persist.
Ongoing issues here include excessive trash (especially out back), poor landscaping, broken rear exit doors, noisy HVAC units, unreliable amenities (pool and hot tub), and inconsistent parking enforcement (entitled residents frequently park in visitor and delivery parking with no real consequences).
Management is reactive rather than proactive, and often appears indifferent to resident concerns despite the high cost of living here. Shea management would walk the grounds every day to identify and address potential issues; it worked great, and I think Greystar should implement this policy.
Positives? Well, the maintenance guys (Talon and Ezra) are great when needed. The views and the location are good. The AC is ice cold. As someone who had to live in their car for awhile in their 20's, this place is better than that.
Based on our experience, the property has significantly deteriorated under Greystar (as expected, but still a shame), and we would encourage anyone who values quality management, cleanliness, and value to consider other options.
This will be an easy move-out for us once our lease is up.
