Bad owner, Bad apartments

My apartment is covered in soot; ie walls, ceiling, furniture, clothing etc.. The owner is saying I did it with candles. First of all candles don't do this. Secondly, no candles have been lit for over a year and a half, and the apartment has been painted since. I had the fire company over and was told dirty air is blowing out of the heater. The owner is despicable and will do anything to not take responsibility. This is only one of many issues with this complex. Do yourself a favor, and... don't even consider this place!!!
