One Easton

I have had a profoundly negative experience here at One Easton due to the unprofessionalism and dismissiveness of management, primarily Property Manager Cynthia.

My unit’s A/C broke. I submitted a maintenance ticket, maintenance came and claimed it was resolved, but it remained broken. I continued to submit more tickets and was told repeatedly that my A/C was functional in person. I spoke with Cynthia and was told “parts have been ordered,” with no estimated arrival time. She brought up “the... recent election” and “COVID” as excuses for the slow repair. The only solutions she left us with were one temporary A/C unit for the common area and possibly a “$3-4 reimbursement.”

Both bedrooms were 85°F during the day and 74°F at night during this entire 30 day period. I emailed Cynthia detailing the unacceptable delay and living conditions. I was met with an unhelpful response saying she stands firm in her decision. Strangely, after withholding rent for one day, the A/C was promptly repaired successfully. Maintenance also informed me that the parts for the repair had arrived several days before, but this was never communicated to me. In my email to Cynthia, I also requested supervisor contact information to escalate our situation. She ignored this request. I sent three subsequent emails asking for this information. She finally replied to the fourth email, stating: “currently working with our attorneys on this matter,” and proceeded to repeat her own contact information.

Before the A/C, when I moved in, my assigned unit’s main door lock was smashed beyond repair and did not lock. The bedroom door was similar. When I notified management, I was told there wasn’t much they could do besides “repair” the doors. After pressing them again, Cynthia and the managers held a 15-minute closed-door meeting right in front of me to decide to move me to a different unit after telling me that wasn’t an option.

In the new unit, the dryer ran indefinitely. After multiple tickets and a negative review, Cynthia called me not to help fix the issue but to talk down. She told me she’s a “homeowner” and knows how to use a dryer and condescendingly said, “it shouldn’t take that long to dry clothes,” completely missing the point that a sensor was broken. Maintenance eventually successfully repaired the dryer after 2-3 attempts. Lee mas

I worked with BOTH Chrissy & Richie getting info. My daughter's housing came through elsewhere but I cannot give a less than stellar rating to the staff. They were kind, helpful and had great follow-up. I will be back to inquire again next year!

Told me I would be paying one price for rent, then the lease had a higher price. Signed trusting them, what a mistake. After signing, I pointed out the issue and was promptly met with threats of legal action.

Shady business practices. Read, reread, and have someone look over the leases because there are a number of shady terms.

Also, be careful, you might have to fight in order to get into your room at the beginning of your lease term.

Had no problem with apartment itself and location was ideal for my daughter. The problem I had was when her lease was up and she moved out, One Easton made an error and billed her for another month beyond her lease long after she was gone without her knowledge. Now they have sent bill to collection agency, after they admitted it was an error on their part! Multiple phone calls to them with the promise to remove the error and still no change. Debt company is harassing us for One Easton’s... mistake! If anyone rents from them, make sure you have copies of everything, it will come in handy! Lee mas

I’m relocating for a new job opportunity and even BREAKING MY LEASE WAS EASY. Cindy and her co-captain Chrissy, and there minions of staff (the good ones) make it enjoyable and easy to live here. The maintenace guys are cool and handle your problems without huffing and puffing. get paired with a cool roommate and your year is sure to be a breeze here!
