One Easton

I have had a profoundly negative experience here at One Easton due to the unprofessionalism and dismissiveness of management, primarily Property Manager Cynthia.

My unit’s A/C broke. I submitted a maintenance ticket, maintenance came and claimed it was resolved, but it remained broken. I continued to submit more tickets and was told repeatedly that my A/C was functional in person. I spoke with Cynthia and was told “parts have been ordered,” with no estimated arrival time. She brought up “the… recent election” and “COVID” as excuses for the slow repair. The only solutions she left us with were one temporary A/C unit for the common area and possibly a “$3-4 reimbursement.”

Both bedrooms were 85°F during the day and 74°F at night during this entire 30 day period. I emailed Cynthia detailing the unacceptable delay and living conditions. I was met with an unhelpful response saying she stands firm in her decision. Strangely, after withholding rent for one day, the A/C was promptly repaired successfully. Maintenance also informed me that the parts for the repair had arrived several days before, but this was never communicated to me. In my email to Cynthia, I also requested supervisor contact information to escalate our situation. She ignored this request. I sent three subsequent emails asking for this information. She finally replied to the fourth email, stating: “currently working with our attorneys on this matter,” and proceeded to repeat her own contact information.

Before the A/C, when I moved in, my assigned unit’s main door lock was smashed beyond repair and did not lock. The bedroom door was similar. When I notified management, I was told there wasn’t much they could do besides “repair” the doors. After pressing them again, Cynthia and the managers held a 15-minute closed-door meeting right in front of me to decide to move me to a different unit after telling me that wasn’t an option.

In the new unit, the dryer ran indefinitely. After multiple tickets and a negative review, Cynthia called me not to help fix the issue but to talk down. She told me she’s a “homeowner” and knows how to use a dryer and condescendingly said, “it shouldn’t take that long to dry clothes,” completely missing the point that a sensor was broken.
