Eight Eleven Uptown Apartamentos

We have lived here since 2021. Lived in the 2 bedroom corner unit facing lakeshore drive and the beach for 3 years and now live in a 1 bedroom corner unit facing the pool and private patio. Both units are gorgeous.
We have no complaints. The building is always clean for having so many residents and always smells nice in the hallways; when there are messes or accidents (maintenance does a great job to clean it up).
In terms of noise level , neighbors at least from our experience have always been... respectful.
Pool area and private patio are beautiful and always clean.
Floors on the first floor are always bright with soft music playing and furniture changes from time to time to give the space a new feel and look.
The library on the first floor is small and beautiful with interesting books. There’s a printer residents can use.

The uniqueness in the apartments is in how every unit’s layout is different which makes the building feel like a puzzle. It’s charming and why we live here. Lee mas

The air conditioning hasn’t worked properly since I moved in. I’ve submitted three maintenance requests. After the first two visits, it still didn’t work at all; after the third visit, it runs but doesn’t cool adequately. On sunny days, the apartment stays above 72 °F, and even when it’s cold outside, the indoor temperature never drops below 70-69 °F—even though it’s 61 °F outdoors—despite the thermostat being set to 67 °F. I’m also concerned because I can hear the AC running constantly as if... it’s trying to get colder but can’t, and I fear this fault will lead to a very high electricity bill. Lee mas

Leasing office staff are terrible communicators. Have asked for a lease renewal four times in the last six weeks. I do love the building and its amenities though.

The amenities are great, the recreation is active with people, apartments are updated and views are lovely! My husband and I just moved in and have been very pleased with the process. Front door staff is also very nice

It’s been an interesting 2 years at 811 and seems like when Willow Bridge as the PM took over in late 2023, that’s where most of the problems and cost cutting around the building started (for me personally).

1. The constant staff turnover since the management company change in late 2023 has literally been never ending and contributes to a lot of the problems with this building.

2. I was accused of non-compliance with my lease for not having renters insurance (of which I always have and have... never gone a day without in almost 20 years) but in reality they lost the policy I gave them and instead of simply admitting they lost it and asking for another copy, I was accused of non-compliance and they gave my information to a 3rd party insurance company that issue a policy in my name without my knowledge, then tried to stick me with the bill!

3. In the very few inquiries I’ve had to make over the last 2 years Trying to get the mgmt. staff to respond to emails/inquiries in a timely manner (or even at all in some cases) seems to be something they clearly have no interest in doing, despite the maintenance staff actually being incredibly responsive and professional.

4. Elevators are broken down far more than they should for a building this new and 27+ stories tall (which is actually a safety issue). The first time this happened I was just back from a work trip with luggage in tow and all the elevators were broke down!

5. Door staff coverage problems on 3rd shift (or lack thereof) create safety/security issues late at night since building/elevator access isn’t secured.

6. I’ve met a few neighbors/friends in the building and far more a handful of those that are people of color have cases where they’ve been racially discriminated against by mgmt. staff. I once overheard discriminatory comments being made about one of the said individuals to another building resident at an official sanctioned resident event in the building!

When residents pay luxury rental rates to live here, there are heightened expectations for levels of service and responsiveness that becomes the standard and this building does not live up to it. Plenty more things, but I’ll leave the review here for now. Hopefully this was helpful! Thankfully moving out next month! Lee mas
