10X Delray

We lived in 10X Delray for one year within the last two years. The amenities were in good condition and maintained. The apartment features matched what was advertised.

There were consistent electrical problems with fuses breaking and outlets not functioning. The furnace filter had not been replaced in years. Maintenance staff came when asked within three business days, but the same electrical problems persisted, and no long term fixes were identified or made.

Several months before we moved… out, we asked for the checkout procedure and were told to sign forms at the office a few days before leaving. We informed 10X we were leaving two months beforehand, at which point, office staff on site told us we had to notify them 60 days in advance. It was day 58. We were redeploying overseas and had to leave. We were assured those two days would not matter and all would be well. There was also a clause in the lease indicating government/military personnel can leave with orders, without incurring penalties, so this made sense.

One month after we left, we received a bill for nearly 3,000 USD alleging we did not give advance notice. After several calls to the main office to explain what we had been told initially, we were informed that since we were no longer residents, we needed to contact the main office. No one would listen or even acknowledge the arrangements that were made. We had the documents as evidence. My spouse was informed, "We do not deal with those who are no longer residents" by the same staff who worked with us a month before. No response to us pointing out the government/military clause in the lease.

The main office in Arizona did not return out calls in timely manner. No one would listen there either. I had to borrow the money from my mother in law, both to pay the 3,000 USD and more to pay the phone bills, because we are deployed 2,000 miles away.

Given the above, and reading 10X's response to a prior review, I would ask 10x to kindly not respond to me, indicating "there is no record of us being a current resident." That's right, and there never will be again. Read More

They kept 100% of my security deposit, charging me for frivolous things AFTER they checked me out when I returned the keys.

I had a bad experience getting ANY of my security deposit back. I would not recommend living at 10x my experience was a nightmare moving out.
