Broadstone Towne Center

This complex advertises themselves as a safe, gated community however it is the exact opposite. The front gate has been broken for over a month (left open) and during this time I have known two people whose cars have been stolen from inside the complex. In response to complaints as to why the gate has not been fixed, the management just says that it's been expensive to fix the gate. These are not cheap apartments and we are paying for a gated community. They have not made any attempts to provide… security during this time or even put up cameras. Being a college student is extremely difficult dealing with financial costs. There aren't very nice apartments around the university area, but Broadstone Towne Center is extremely nice and safe. I chose to live here because it is convenient and really close to campus. However, living in a one bedroom it is extremely expensive.

Overall, the Broadstone Town Center apartment complex is good. The positive aspects are close proximity to the interstate, respectably large apartments, good room layouts, and overall nice facilities. The negative aspects are parking availability, occasional crime, Comcast, getting into the apartment difficulty, and minor "damage" to the kitchen floor.

The apartment is located close to the interstate which means that most places in town are within 15 minutes away. Also close to Central Ave,… Downtown, the University, and the Air Force Base. So in that respect it is a good location.

The apartments themselves are nice. Decently large square footage and a variety of layouts that fit a variety of tenant needs are the obvious reasons the apartments are nice.

The complex is nice with a long grass area in the middle, two pools, multiple grills, a nice outdoor patio area, and an indoor/outdoor workout area. There is also a Theater room but it has limited hours when you can use it and it has never been convenient for me personally.

The biggest problem with the Broadstone Town Center is the parking lot. There is not enough parking. There are garages, carports, and general parking. Garages cost $50/month and Carports are $25/month which would be totally fine if it weren't for the fact that there is no where near enough general parking. There are more carport spots than general parking so incidentally all the general parking spots get full and you don't have a spot but more than half of the carports are not being used. If you park somewhere you aren't supposed to park, you will be towed. The apartment has a partnership with a tow truck company and they patrol every night. So the apartment's policy is that you can park outside the gate in the Buffalo Wild Wings parking lot if there are no open spots. I pay to live in a gated apartment complex, so I should be able to park inside the gate where my car should be safe.

Your car isn't necessarily safe inside the gate though. I mentioned that the location is good in the sense that it is centrally located and close to a variety of activities, but the location is also bad because it is not the most crime-free area of Albuquerque. My car and at least 8 others parked inside the gate were broken into on the same night.

So while it may be too easy for criminals to enter the gate, getting to the gate from the street is a bit of a hassle involving U-turns or driving through parking lots.

The sales associates are very nice and approachable. However, no one accompanied me to inspect the apartment upon move-in. And multitasking was not their strong suit. The property is neat and safe. My apartment model is very modern and spacious for a decent price.
