tranquil little nook
I have a studio apartment at Walnut Hills. It is perfectly suitable for me, and other options are one-bedroom units for those desiring more space. The physical location of the complex itself is one that is exceptionally quiet and peaceful, and residents are surrounded by beautiful arrangements of colorful flowers, which the complex prides itself on maintaining during the spring and summer months. One is also surrounded by trees and most mornings can awake to the beautiful and harmonious choruses... of chirping birds. I was initially drawn to the affordability; a very low security deposit and with a move-in special incentive, I only ended up paying $199, although the complex has since come under new management, and the rent has been steadily increased by at least $12 every year. I now pay $448 a month where I originally paid $409. The complex allows pets, but adds an extra $50 I believe to monthly rent costs for anyone who owns a pet. The maintenance staff is available 24/7, with an emergency contact number for any sudden issues that may arise. The maintenance staff here is incredibly helpful, experienced, and friendly, going far beyond their duties and exceeding expectations when it comes to assisting residents. Inspections are conducted normally twice a year, with notification weeks in advance. The condition of my apartment when I first moved in was adequate. The carpet was obviously a bit aged, as was the wallpaper, but everything else functioned properly, and I was overall extremely pleased, as I have continued to be for the duration of my residency. The complex is perfect for college students in the Chillicothe area, since it is minutes from the OU campus in Chillicothe, and its location is also convenient for anyone who may work in Chillicothe, only ten or fifteen minutes away from the bustling downtown portion of the city, not to mention numerous shopping and dining options in close proximity on Western Avenue. One additional criticism I would have would be the lack of individual private space. A few of the apartments have semi-enclosed patio areas. No community area or anything of that sort, to those who may place value on such things. No pool. And one laundry facility, which is accessible 24/7. Overall, however, I strongly recommend it, and I shall ever be grateful for the affordability factor. My bad credit did not seem to make much difference in determining the amount of my security deposit.
